Various studies already demonstrate it: noise is the second environmental factor that causes the most illnesses in Europe, behind air pollution. As explained in its annual report by the European Environment Agency, noise is the cause of severe annoyance in more than 22 million people. Furthermore, it continues, nearly 7 million people suffer from chronic sleep disorders derived from high exposure to this factor.

In countries with a vibrant social street life, even more so in this post-covid era, noise pollution in parks, squares, and terraces has become a subject of debate. Where does outdoor leisure and enjoyment end and the resident's quality of life begin? A multitude of regulations, ranging from European bodies to local corporations, already regulate this aspect, which almost always goes unnoticed by the hospitality industry.

It was precisely in this context that ISINAC developed a patent specifically designed for these outdoor spaces. The challenge: to find a solution that not only responded to the brand's main line of action — acoustic absorption — but also offered both acoustic and thermal insulation. Many solutions already available on the market, made from plastic derivatives, cause a greenhouse effect in summer and are unable to retain the heat from heaters in winter.
