In many schools, shared spaces are designed to host a variety of activities, but not to manage them acoustically. At the Vicente Risco school in Vigo, the gymnasium also serves as a music room. and rehearsal space for the Son das Flores orchestra. Without acoustic treatment, the sound accumulated, bounced and ended up becoming a barrier: it was difficult to maintain attention, follow the indications and fully enjoy the musical practice.
To bring control back into the space, a panel Tens-Tex adapted to the surface and personalised with the orchestra's name. This solution elegantly intercepts sound that was previously freely propagated with a constant sense of noise. At the same time, it integrates into a learning space as part of a more pleasant environment.

Noise that makes room for learning
In addition to the Tens-Tex, the performance was completed with self-adhesive circular panels, combining neutral finishes with accents of colour with ILUCS fabric. Its distribution helps to stabilise the sound environment throughout the room, making the sound even more balanced.
After the performance, the change is noticeable in everyday use: rehearsals are flowing and space is already all possibilities without disturbance. Because when sound is under control, teaching and learning become much more natural.
